Artist Statement
Playful figurative art exploring human bodies, animals, and the natural world.
Abundance is everywhere. My goal in art is to reflect the joy of life – through bright colours, rich lines, warm skin, juicy vegetables, and playful animals. I am captivated by the lyricism inherent in every human body and approach them with a draft woman’s eye. This is my first exhibit and will pull together my works over the last ten years, including figurative and symbolist paintings of various styles and a few drawings from model sessions.
I’m originally from Saskatoon, where I trained initially under artist Degen Lindner, and have made my way to Fernwood via Montreal, Ottawa, and Oxford.
