Support US War Resisters

The War Resisters Support Campaign is a broad-based coalition of community, faith, labour and other organizations and individuals that have come together to support U.S. soldiers seeking asylum in Canada because they refuse to fight in what the United Nations has declared an illegal war in Iraq.

The Campaign works on two fronts: we support the material needs of war resisters when they arrive in Canada; and we campaign to persuade the Canadian government to provide sanctuary for U.S. war resisters.

Signatories include: Naomi Klein, David Cronenberg, David Suzuki, Ronnie Hawkins and many others.

Valerie Lannon, a founding member of the Victoria Chapter of the War Resisters Support Campaign is "Running for the Resisters" in the Vancouver Marathon on May 7, 2006.

Please download the pledge form and support her effort to raise needed funds to defer legal and living expenses for those who refuse to fight in Iraq.

Bury the Dead - staged play reading

Thanks to all who participated and attended the staged play reading. We raised over $2500 towards the cause and have had many requests to repeat this event.
